Suzuki GSXR 1100

The History

A year after the presentation of the GSX-R750, a big brother with a 1100cc engine was born. Like its older brother, the GSX-R1100 had lightweight aluminium box frame, full fairing, Full-floater rear swing and a four-cylinder four-stroke engine. The styling design uses the same horizontal two-lamp headlamps as the GSX-R750 to create a racer-like style that dates back to the Endurance World Championship.

The frame differed from the GSX-R750 but only because it received extra bracing. Steering head rake and front-end trail figures at 26 degrees and 116 mm were slightly more relaxed than the 750. Combined with the longer swingarm fitted to the GSX-R1100, the 1460 mm wheelbase made it a nicer bike on the road.

The engine is a 1057cc oil-cooled 4-cycle in-line 4-cylinder DOHC 4-valve that uses an advanced SACS (Suzuki Advanced Cooling System) that sprays 20 litres of oil per minute on the cylinder head
